The latest release of SpaceClaim (V2021 R1) delivers innovative features for more precise and realistic modelling, and is available now for download (either myspaceclaim.com or from the Discovery Forum). A few feature highlights:

New Deviation Probing

Make precise measurements comparing two models.

SpaceClaim has now expanded functionality within the Deviation Tool, from comparing any two models where they differ visually, whether a faceted or solid body, but now probe for the deviation.  This allows users to make precise measurements and determine whether a model is within tolerance.  Probing is also available in our Draft Analysis tool as well.

New Mesh Modelling

Curvature-based smoothing for faceted data.

A useful enhancement for both 3D printing and Reverse Engineering, is the enhancement to the Regularlize command, which provides a new option for curvature-based smoothing that allows variable-sized faceting, dependent on either the maximum edge length or the deviation from the original faceted body.

Sketch Constraint Management

Enhancements to 2D constraint capabilities.

Dimensional relationships can now be created using expressions, with the label or value able to be modified in the property panel and also displayed within the design window.

A new Autoconstraint tool has also been added that identifies constraints that can be added to a sketch, following the fin-fix paradigm. This helps adding constraints to an under-constrained sketch. The constraint icons have also been enhanced to better illustrate sketch relationships.

ANSYS-DISCOVERY1.png

With V2021 R1 users can set up and run simulations in Ansys Discovery faster and easier than ever before with new multiphysics capabilities and performance improvements. Available now for download (from the Discovery Forum). A few feature highlights:

New Thermal Management Capabilities

Discovery now includes conjugate heat transfer (CHT) to determine fluid and solid temperatures to evaluate fluid and thermal performance of product designs. Solve a wide range of product design challenges with multi-physics simulation capabilities across numerous industry applications.

Ansys Cloud & Export to Flagship Products

Pick up right where you left off in this Discovery release, with the last active simulation stage now saved; and when more complex physical behaviors are required direct transfer to Ansys Mechanical and Fluent applications is now provided. This release also brings access for Discovery on the Ansys Cloud, through your browser using virtual desktop instancing (VDI). if you don’t have access to high performance hardware or an appropriate GPU.

Report Generator

As well as enhancing the visualization of the results display in this release, when you need to summarize or record the simulation results and setup, Discovery’s new report generator captures all model inputs, materials and results and exports them to a Word or html document, so colleagues or customers can review the details of an analysis. This includes a 3D interactive snapshot of the geometry, the assembly structure, properties, boundary conditions and any monitor or chart values.

SpaceClaim-Toolbox.JPG

SC Toolbox is a must for all SpaceClaim users is to download this free add-in to SpaceClaim, that allows the easy insertion of multiple components, such as bolts, nuts, and washers into your assemblies; as well as insertion of beam profiles, referencing ISO and DIN standards.
